Media Map of Iraq (Requires Flash 6.) Click on a location or unit to see a list of embedded reporters. Then each reporter's name is a link to a list of their war reporting either at their website or via a Google News search. Also, Poynter.org is constantly looking to improve this map via reader input, as the Pentagon is not giving up much information on the embedment program. Also, The Atlantic Monthly/Washington Post's Michael Kelly is the first embedded reporter to be killed in this war.

Also an interesting Flash map exercise is this Northern Africa/Middle Eastern map quiz. I thought I was pretty good at geography and could ace it, but there were a handful of countries I just could not name at all. I probably only got 50% right on the first pass.

God, that's horrible about Michael Kelly. He was a Washington Post columnist whose pieces were published in the New York Post. He called it like it was, including called the Euro-protesters the feckless cowards that they are: "The people who believe what Chirac at least professes to believe are, at least as concerns Iraq, as wrong as it is possible to be. Theirs is not the position of profound morality but one that stands in profound opposition to morality." Rest in Peace, Mr. Kelly. You will be sorely missed.

Everything is political, everything somehow has to be tied into a particular stance, everything is about you and what you think. I disagreed with everything the man stood for; yet, just posted on my weblog about my disgust with the lefts treatment of his death. I won't miss the guy at all, I didn't even know him (did you?), but I have little doubt his family will miss him. Don't you dogmatic puppets get it? Whether from the left or the right, two children are without a father. Save the fucking rhetoric and show some respect.

I don't there's there's anything disrespectful about praising a great journalist and columnist for his ability to see and write about the truth, and to be so resonant that publications from Left-of-center to right-of-center published his work. He called those pathetic protesters exactly what they are: immoral. Please tell me: where's the disrespect? I don't understand.

ParisParamus: The disrespect lies in turning someones death around to further whatever agenda your putting forth. It's absurd to pretend your little bit about him calling, "... the Euro-protesters the feckless cowards that they are," has any relevance whatsoever to the links posted.
