Why is it your exes give me nightmares while mine left nothing but fond memories?

"My Wife Dated Idiots" says Michael Douglas. He, on the other hand, kept strictly to Nobel Prizewinners. Insecurity, assholiness and (admittedly) Simply Red's Mick Hucknall apart, why is it that for ex=XX or ex=XY, one's own exes are always better than one's partner's exes?

My g/f rejected the grovelling Mick Hucknall many times in the early 80s at Manchester Poly SU bar...

Michael Douglas has had considerable more years than Catherine Zeta Jones to refine his dating.

"I recognise that my wife is 25 years younger"

He shouldn't really be talking about her idiotic dating practices ... and he should feel insecure.

The only thing worse than relationship trauma is reading about the relationship trauma of strangers on the internet.

And speaking of relationship trauma, check out this recent entry from AccordionGuy's weblog.

also,

The flame-haired star, whose fortune is estimated at £30million, wooed Miss Zeta- Jones shortly after she moved to Holsayinglywood four years ago in an attempt to break into movies.

Holsayinglywood???

Scary quote by Zeta-Jones: "It wouldn't be sensible to marry [multi-millionaire Hollywood producer Jon Peters]. There are plenty more big fish in the sea."

Smacks of blatant social climbing.

Even scarier: The fact that I actually read this vacuuous puff-piece article about big-name Hollywood marriages.

She has continued the Hollywood Douglas Male line, no? Her work is done. This will only get uglier.
Now, pass me some of that Meta-wash, please, I feel icky.

You can take the girl out of the Mumbles, but you can't take the Mumbles out of the girl. Pity that you can't put it into the bloke, though.

It's standard practice for Current Guy to trash Past Guys, casting aspersions on their manhood, intelligence, mental health, hygiene, etc., and expressing sympathy for Current Chick's former tribulations. It's a standard precursor to him repeating Past Guys' bad patterns and/or getting left for roadkill by Current Chick.

I hear Zeta-Jones is cold as ice, so methinks in this case the latter scenario will definitely apply.
