Way Lay is the homepage of cartoonist Carol Lay, creator of the strip Story Minute. In addition to being one of the few places one can view the strip without going through Salon's obnoxious free pass system. The site has the best autobiography I've seen for an artist site and images of earlier bizarre parodies of Salvador Dali and the Shroud of Turin.

Thanks, Kirk. I dunno if her site has been linked here before, but Carol Lay is one of the finest cartoonists on planet Earth.

Yeah. Damn that 10-second delay as a justifiable alternative to monthly charges for quality daily content. Damn it all to hell.

Salon has, without a doubt, the best overall team of cartoonists online. I've been a fan of Lay's work for about three years now.

Now, see, this is what's wrong with the world today. Even here on Metafilter, a desperate washed-up hack like Madonna rates multiple posts with dozens of comments each, while a true artist like Carol Lay gets, what is it, three comments now? Pathetic.

It's four now! No amount of comments is too many for Carol Lay. Even if they're just cheerleading bits like mine.

Her bio strip appears in the back of, what, Now, Endsville, I think, which is out of print. Or is it Joy Ride? In any case it's obnoxiously hard to find any of her collections in stores these days.
