Draft Clark, the website recently established to promote the idea of recruiting retired Gen. Wesley Clark as the Democratic nominee for vice president, "seems to have been taken down and replaced with the word 'chromium.'" [via PoliticalWire.]

I don't know. I've been trying to figure out if there is any meaning to it, or if they just took the site down and threw up a random word in its place. I thought somebody might have an idea, given the vastness of the MeFi brain.

That's hilarious. "Chromium." Heh! Don't know why it's so hilarious. It seems so simple and random. Or does anyone think there's significance to "chromium"? Wesley Clark and chromium were both mentioned in this Mefi Thread. They're both mentioned here, as in There's chromium in them thar hills of Kosova. I have no theories yet.

Their host, Cornerhost, is having problems as discussed on the Cornerhost weblog. Chromium is one of the machines that Cornerhost serves pages off of; I assume that this willl resolve itself fairly quickly, since Cornerhost has a pretty good reputation.

Sorry. I mean, of course, that "chromium" is a reference to the blades wielded by the sinister ninjas hired by ketchup magante Teresa Heinz Kerry to disrupt the "Draft Clark" effort and preserve her husband's role as the only war hero running for the Democratic nomination. Their glinting blades have overrun the boys at draftclark.com; the blood-flecked corpses of Clark supporters and that one mysterious word are all that they have left behind.

Chromium aside, I think Wesley Clark is a remarkably good choice for candidacy. Can I be so bold as to ask why? I'm only familiar with his experience in killing enemies and/or telling others to kill enemies. Or is that enough nowadays?
