jay-z has got great flow, but doesn't really talk about anything other then money and ho's. many people have heard him. talib speaks on many issues, but will interrupt his flow to say it. talib kweli and mos def (with hi-tek producing) made the blackstar album, the best album of both of their careers.

Talib Kweli is a new school Brooklyn MC who's been around, in one form or another, for a while. He did a record with Mos Def called "Blackstar", and a record with DJ Hi-Tek called "Reflection Eternal". He's on Rawkus Records, and been on a bunch of Soundbombing comps with everyone from the Roots to Planet Asia. He just released his first solo CD, "Quality". Next to the Perceptionists (Mr. Lif, Akrobatik, and DJ Faks One), Mos Def and Talib Kweli are probably my favorite MCs.

If you buy the Soundbombing comps you can also find pre-Dre Eminem and pre-DefJux El-P. I go back and forth on my favorite MC. All-time, probably Mos Def or Chuck D. Today, Dose One, Sage Francis, or Slug.
