Space dots. Pretty.

Copernica Martin Wattenberg, in collaboration with NASA and Rhizome.org, developed a gorgeous applet to showcase NASA's commissioned art program. Participating artists include William Wegman, Andy Warhol, Annie Leibovitz, and Robert Rauschenburg, among others. Pieces can be viewed by subject, title, or create your own gallery. Beautiful.

Wow, that's a weird interface, but cool presentation. Makes it really quick and easy to see dozens of images. Is there any way to see them full size?

Ooh!aah!filter.

Kidding, kidding! ;-) That is neat. NASA remains one of the only government branches you can't love to hate. And information visualizations like this, though less artistically realized, is finally becoming accessible to non-programmers through freeware projects like TouchGraph.

Loved the interface as well, but it is a shame the images can't be enlarged (or I didn't find a way). Lovely link - thanks.

I'd much prefer a regular ol' page of thumbnails linked to some decent sized images. I don't see any advantage to this slow loading applet, aside from giving a geeky thrill to those who can appreciate the programming skill.
