The PCness in me is ashamed considering that, in part, it makes fun of the plight found in Nigeria, but eff it, this is funny.

I don't know. The concept sounded funny when it was forwarded to me today, but as I read on it just seemed more needlessly cruel than anything else. Of course, the email scams are ripe for comedy, but I jsut think it could be done better.

The Nigerian Advance-Fee Scam (aka 419 scam, after the Nigerian criminal code statute) just plain works far too often for me to feel sorry. Cruel is scamming the unwary out of billions; at least one estimate pegs it Nigeria's second largest industry after oil. I have found recent Iraq-themed variants interesting, particularly one invoking persecution of "fellow" Christians as the emotional hook.

I was amused for the most part, but thought the 3rd world running water/flushing toilet humor was out of line. The Dubya version is brilliant, if a tad outdated now.
