Sorry there's no "New Yorker Book of Miguel Cartoons" (search turned up none), but there is a New Yorker Book of Wendell Cartoons. But then I always knew this name was Comedy Gold (okay, Comedy Aluminum).

More MeFi name game: How Money Made a Man Out of Matt. Nothing for "Carlos" or "Ignatius" or even "jimbob", and I'm not going to bother to try "quonsar", "hama7", or "plep".
Nothing for 'meta", and the only "filter" refers to cigarettes and mixed results for Google. posted by wendell at 3:19 PM on June 16, 2003
So is this not a doublepost, just for the "value" added content? posted by crunchland at 4:01 PM on June 16, 2003
Not just a double post, but by the same poster!
It's a great resource: if only they would make them available free at a higher resolution! When I scanned an original New Yorker cartoon for a blog entry (self-link) I had the first-ever referrals for my newly-launched site.
IMHO, not a Double (or actually, it would be a Triple), since the previous posts were about cartoonbank's annual caption contest, and this is "fun with searching cartoonbank's archive". By that standard, every post about a NYTimes story is a Double-Quadruple-Decicentennituple Post.
Still, Miguel should be discouraged from 'PepsiBlue-ing' the next NYorker captionfest. But if you want a caption contest, there may still be time to enter Greg Beato & Terry Colon's competition.
On preview, no there isn't. posted by wendell at 4:36 PM on June 16, 2003
