From the site: Sick of the media's puffery of Hillary Clinton and her new book in an obvious effort to help her presidential chances?

I'm a righty, and it's obvious to me that most US mass media have a mild liberal bias, but the above accusation is simply not true. Virtually all media, liberal and conservative, have bashed the book as insincere, superficial garbage, written only to advance Hillary's political ambitions. I haven't noticed any puffery.

Newsmax is about as low as media can get, no matter which side of the middle you sit in...the deck (could make one for Coulter) is a cheap shot and hardly at this point imaginative. Just plain trash.

Slithy, the liberal media bias is a myth. Perhaps it was true in the 1970s, but only neocon repetition of the myth keeps it alive. I'm a lefty, and I see media dominators like Clear Channel, MSNBC, FOX and CNN taking an unabashedly neocon view. And it should follow logically from the media consolidations of the last 10 years, don't you suppose?

It's obvious that there's a liberal media bias... sheesh, during the whole runup to Iraq, I couldn't turn on a news broadcast without seeing those damned war protestors. And now this Bigfoot thing, I swear, will it ever stop? They've taken over, and it's time for Real Americans to FIGHT BACK! The conservative voices in this country will no longer be marginalized!

Four panels' link is amazing! Bush and his speechwriters can't get enough of those Southern Regionalisms.

We get it George! You were born in New England, educated in New England and your family has called New England home for nearly 400 years, but you're a Texan! No one can accuse you of being some northeastern elitist because you're sometimes photographed in tacky cowboy hats and say "Crawford" more often than most people say "hello."

Could someone explain why so many conservatives hate Hillary Clinton's guts? It seems like she's even more reviled than Bill. (I'd prefer an explanation from someone who does hate her to speculation from the left.)

I can speak for myself (I don't hate her personally but politically is another story.)

One thing that ticked me off right off the bat was the way she seemed to try to truly make it a co-presidency with her husband. I don't think she needed to hide in the kitchen making cookies, but I do think that Bill was the one elected and not her. If he was a CEO in a Fortune 500 company, she sure as heck wouldn't have been muscling in.

I guess the rest as far as I am concerned is that I truly disagree with her liberal viewpoints-as I would imagine she would disagree with my conservative ones.

And I hate how she handles her husband's personal peccadillos-but it must be conceded that is her business even if I personally think she should have kicked him out on his butt years ago.

uosuaq, I have wondered much the same thing. Although, I am probably not the one to suggest a reason for the excessive hatred, actually, of both the Clintons, because I do like her, but I have been reading Sidney Blumenthal's obviously partisan book, the Clinton Wars, and have found that he treats the question in a historical context that goes way beyond the old right/left analysis, and also way beyond just the Clintons. His analysis calls attenton to an alternative culture - alternative to the one that I take for granted - where a particular set of values, significances and ethics are taken to be the absolute way things are and ought to be. Of course, one can say, the we all are parts of such cultures and our critique of the other guys is at least as flawed. But the book - so far - has given me some new insights into the whole Clinton saga if only because it sets in a larger context.

that is her business even if I personally think she should have kicked him out on his butt years ago

Remember, Bill 'n' Hill are not the only ones involved in that marriage. Here is a woman who kept her family together through betrayal from within and incredible visibility and hostility from without. And the response to her from the family-values crowd? Vitrioloc hatred. (Not talking about you, konolia.) They talk the talk, she walks the walk.

Disclaimer -- I voted for her once, but lately she's gotten too Republican for me.
