My pugs are suddenly very lame.

You're the one that I want! Okay, I've seen trained dogs before, but this is ridiculous. A highly choreographed routine between the trainer and perhaps the world's furriest John Travolta impersonator (warning WMV link).

That is one impressive dog. That is one dedicated woman. And if she's married, she's married to one neglected man. They must have put years into getting that right.

no no.. dedicated would be doing that routine with a cat.

Wow, I needed that today. One thing, though, my cat likes it when I sing to him, but there's no way in hell he'd dance with me.

That was great!

I just got a dog on Saturday. If she's not too distracted, she'll usually respond to "sit." So far, that's about all though.

We've got a long way to go. :-)

It's called freestyle and apparently it is very competitive...I would love to see Christopher Guest tackle this subject.

That made my day. Thanks, jonson!

A couple of comments:

Grease would have been better with the dog...I bet the canine is a better actor.

Wow, the training for that must have been insane. My dog, big loveable galoot that she is, barely fetches.

And lastly, what a funny link, after a morning of screaming, teething baby, I needed that. :)

dejah, you crack me up! I actually heard the dog was up for Travolta's part in Pulp Fiction until he used his Scientology connections to have it blacklisted.

Wow, that is some serious work.

My daughter has trained our dog since we got it. I think it is quite well trained, but all it does is sit, come, beg, heel, stay, kiss, speak and a few others. This took 2 years.

Wow, that was wonderful. What fun! Thanks for the link. I needed that.

And of course a cat would not be caught dead...which is why they run the world, we're just their tuna-supply system.

Is the dog controlling the woman or vice-versa?
posted by Nauip at 1:12 PM on June 24, 2003

All right, I thought he was just going for the dog treat until the moment where they backed away from each other. That is one great dog and, come to think of it, one great dog trainer.

Sometimes, my cat and I dance around the house to Queen's "You're My Best Friend." Actually, I do most of the dancing and he does most of the "put me down or I will kill you" growling.

That dog's a way better dancer than I am.

*sighs*

That was too cute! I was really impressed by the accuracy of the choreography...she's wearing the black outfit ONJ wore during that number, and many of the steps are right out of the movie.
