Apple Reveals New Stuff And Things

O Come All Ye Faithful... The latest batch of stuff that Steve Jobs revealed to his undead legions - excuse me, loyal Apple customers - includes what is claimed to be "the world's fastest PC." Which looks like something a Berlin designer from 1981 would come up with, but enough of that. He also announced a new OSX upgrade, more services awkwardly prefixed with "i", and other stuff for 3% of the population to actually use and for the rest of us to admire from afar.

I heard someone say the new G5 towers look like a huge cheese grater. I couldn't agree more. That said, I still really really want one.

A quote from one of solistrato's metatalk posts: "people have a bad habit of being contrary and blase simply for the sake of it". The title of the post is even better: Raining on other people's parades.

Gotta love the internet.

Of course, questions are being raised about the validity of the benchmarks. Let the fun begin.

I'm going to buy one as soon as I can afford it. At the risk of sounding like a 'switcher...' I used nothing but PC's until buying my Powerbook last year, and now I can't wait to replace the (perfectly adequate, P4 2.53Ghz) box on my desk with a Mac. And it's all because of OSX: it's intuitive, beautiful, and stable. Nothing goes wrong with the damn thing. (touch wood). It really, actualy just does what it's supposed to do.

Good gawd. 24 horus have gone by now and I was really starting to think that no one would stoop to posting this. If you must Applefilter, at least do it same day. We wouldn't want to turn this fine forum into Stalebrownapplefilter.

solistrato, I also thought '80s north European design' when I saw this (as is still to be found in highly expensive home office furnishing shops). I'd like one in matt black maybe w/ black lacquered aluminium handles.
