The War Profiteers Card Deck. Not only is Saddam still running free, but so is Sam Nunn.

Sam Nunn is on the board of GE and Chevron-Texaco, but he is also the founder of the Nuclear Threat Initiative. GE's performance has mirrored the S&P's since the beginning of the war, and it doesn't appear that Sam Nunn has sold any GE stock recently. Same for Chevron-Texaco (performance / insider). Is there a reason Sam Nunn shouldn't be running around free?

It's a joke, frank.

I realize it's a joke, but I thought I'd point out that Sam Nunn is working to eradicate nuclear weapons, so perhaps it's good to have someone like him on GE's board.

Hey, zedzebedia, would you *rather* have Saddam running free, or Nunn...?

Just checking!

I'd rather have Saddam running free than Kissinger.

Kissinger isn't free. He's under house arrest in the United States.

Here's my favourite take on the tired old card-deck meme (warning: 'scuse language... certain to offend...)

What did Dwight Eisenhower caution us about regarding the military industrial complex? Does Carlyle Co. fit the description or what?

I knew I should've said Ashcroft instead of Sam Nunn, but how was I to know he has strong Metafilter support?
