Go On, Give Us A Song, One From The 21st Century! Mine is Comforting Sounds from the Danish quartet Mew, whose wonderful website I thoroughly recommend. [Windows Media involved.]

Their live shows are pretty impressive too, with a number of digital projectors linked to samples and projecting animations and images over the entire stage (basically makes the stage look like their website). The duet and the toy train are both especially effective.

They could do with a haircut and some new clothes, mind.

And the man who does their sound looks like a pervert.

lately i've been partial to the decemberists, a highly theatrical quintet from oregon who make beautiful music (especially appealing to fans of neutral milk hotel, wilco, and the tiger lilies) and are cute as the dickens. here, have a listen.
