The video MTV doesn't want you to see [.asx. file]: Apparently the new Foo Fighters video is just too risque for the cutting edge entertainment channel (~pffft). This brief NYpost article has more. Either way, it's hilarious. It co-stars Jack Black, which is good enough for me. "Let's put the hammer down!"

They are playing this on MTV2 and some of the other music channels in the UK....its not particularly offensive...apart from seeing the two of them in lay-dees underwear...which is enough to put anyone off their tea... And besides - what onedarkride said...its a pretty piss poor video...

MTV Europe has no problem with the video -- unfortunately. it's so unfunny that censorship is actually an act of kindness towards grohl and black ps trucker hats are so passé already

Over-produced, self-conscious, self-referential, artificial irony... that's the minimum requirement for music videos these days, and the Foos have long been leaders in that trend. I find that NOT seeing the video increases my enjoyment of Foo Fighters music... And whoever first put Dave Grohl in drag in a Nirvana video should be locked in a dark room forever.

Grohl and Black's legs are horizontal on the floor, intermingling with each other, implying a sex scene. I thought their legs were parallel to the floor, straight up in the air. hmm maybe they were horizontal.

Based on the steady decline in quality that Grohl's songwriting has taken over the years, I'm mostly glad that MTV doesn't want me to see this (the alluring Jack Black notwithstanding).

MTV (or VH1) will eventually play it in a lame special (The Greatest Banned Videos During the Month of May 2003, perhaps). The once-banned "Smack My Bitch Up" and "Justify My Love" are running in heavy rotation in some "shocking moments" special. I can no longer decipher between MTV, VH1, or E!.

Jack Black in a pink miniskirt. My life may never be the same. I think it's pretty funny that they banned it, I'm sure all that will do is make more people see the video. I haven't watched MTV in years, because they don't show music videos and I'm not their target demographic of 14 year olds, so the odds are that I wouldn't have seen this video if there hadn't been controversy about it. That being said, I didn't think it was a great song or great video. It wasn't "outrageous"...it was pretentious, pseudoslapping at the establishment, of which they are both a very large part. Yawn. As to the new Christina ban...whereas I don't like Ms. Aguilera's music...I can't see anything offensive in that video. (Well, there are some huge fashion faux pas, but that aside....)

so when do we see Dave Grohl in a movie or something. it's so obvious that he wants to be a movie star. he's quite a character. the video? not sure why mtv would can this and not 99% of the rest that mtv plays. the christina is no worse than others as well. must be related to sensors. You can say ass, but not w/ hole. or god, and damn, but not together. you can move you hips as long as your hand or water hose isn't involved in the grinding.

gravenity, there's about 2 seconds of christina humping a hose. Really neither of these videos seem like anything in comparison to what madonna or george micheal did. and it seriously pales in comparison to the "real" world. man, i would trade mtv2 for mtv anyday
