White House captions: "President George W. Bush prepares his State of the Union Address with White House speechwriters...President Bush reviews the text...President Bush rewrites portions of the address...President Bush gives his speechwriting team a few points after revising the State of the Union Address...After days of revisions and rehearsals, President Bush reads through his State of the Union speech."

Let's not get too riled up here, I'm sure he was just taking out the big words.

Hmmm... you mean pictures of Bush rehearsing and perhaps (drumroll) rewriting his speech? Yet another step in the vast right wing conspiracy no doubt. Probably by the same shadowy figures who sneaked into the PNAC site this weekend.

well, in all fairness, just because he revised the speech himself, doesn't mean he didn't pass it off to a guy in a trenchcoat and dark glasses moments before he walked down the aisle in the Capitol Building.

But I do wonder if there's any way for us to give George a gift of that desk plaque that Truman used to have on his desk... about the buck stopping there.

The "buck" and personal responsibility apparently stops elsewhere when it might get him in trouble. I can't believe all the lies coming out of that friggin office.

I think this can be passed off as, "Those were just set up photos, he wasn't actually working on the speech."

Having said that, if this course of defense is used by the White House, I expect $10 everytime it's mentioned, as I've just copyrighted it.

I'm pretty certain that Bush knew that the Niger documents were false, but the fact that he edited his speech before giving it is indicative of nothing. Speeches are constantly being rewritten; every President has made last minute alterations to his speeches.

What's the point? Haven't we established that we don't like Bush? I'm not -trying- to be the "*filter"-comment guy but I just don't get this post.

They've been lying for years? We all know this country's full of politicians that will say *anything* to get your vote. They grab some special interest groups' attention and gain more poll share.. and then rarely do they follow through with each little promise. This is sadly par for the course.

These people talk constantly, all on public record. Don't you think it's entirely possible they'll contradict something, somewhere?

I don't think we should have gone to war. I think our president is incompetant. But come on..

I'm with shadow45 on this one. This post isn't achieving much. I was actually hoping for something funny to pop up. I don't know why, but the thought of Bush writing or rewriting anything makes me giggle.

I don't understand why this post is interesting in the least.
