Evolution resumes in Kansas. Two of the three state school board members who de-emphasized evolution in the science curriculum have lost in primary elections. Survival of the fittest is a bitch, ain't it?

Well sure, at the local level, anyway. Nationally? Hardly.

This is pretty interesting news, though it may well be an isolated incident. Typically it's social conservatives (and their ilk) that are very well organized and can dominate the local political process like that, and it's about time we see some opposition hitting them where they live, so to speak.
