Anyone want a prestigious award for journalism? The USC Annenberg School for Journalism is accepting entries for the 2003 Online Journalism Awards, for independent and affiliated sites in eight different categories, including online commentary and creative use of the medium. So, who would you nominate? Any hidden treasures of the web this year?

Why bother with all that when you can just go around saying you won two Peabody awards?

More to the point, is it worth $100 for you to nominate someone, as that's the entry fee. Or is it worth $100 to nominate yourself -- "self-nominations are welcome."

I like a lot of writing on the Web, but if I'm going to spend $100 on the writer, I'd probably put it in his or her tip jar first. There's an award most Web writers could really use.
