Intacto - An interesting foreign language film about the mechanics of luck as a commodity. I just wanted this film last night and am trying to understand all of the possible permutations of how luck worked in this movie. Anyone interested in discussing it is encouraged to do so.

You might want to go to a movie discussion site. MeFi posts are supposed to feature interesting links; you have linked to an online store. From the Guidelines:
"Make sure you're linking to something on the web. If you're posting a generalized question to the audience, or posting a comment as a main thread, either find an appropriate mailing list, or use MetaTalk."

This has turned out to be for me one of the most fascinating movies i have seen recently. Luck is elevated to the level of a force which is given at birth but can be taken away by others with greater luck. I saw it as an alternate take on the idea of destiny.

This post should probably be deleted. A broader post on fanciful notions of luck or destiny (especially the superstitions of gamblers) could and should include this film.

I thought it was interesting on a purely conceptual level but not especially engaging. One thrilling scene of people running through the woods with their eyes folded and hands tied behind their backs, relying on their luck to avoid the trees (many broken noses). Max von Sydow was good as the supreme luckmeister. Still, in the end, it felt strangely hollow.
