This is not at all directed at starscream for posting this, but I am surrounded by white people who CAN'T STOP mimicing black subculture for fun. "Fo shizzle! I'm keepin' it real! By the time golf-playing whitefoo has heard of it, it's supposed to be O-VER. It's kinda sad how whitefolks think there's a meta-layer of irony protecting them when they co-opt black culture. They're not just stealing authentic inner city culture because they're soulless suburbanites. Oh no. They know you know they know. That makes it a joke. Or something. But it isn't anymore. Be white. Scarabic: I'm interested in your comments 'Be White'; as a British white male it appears to me that significant elements of Black British/Urban culture derive from African American culture. To what extent would you regard this adoption as valid on the basis of colour alone (if at all?). Does this adoption differ from the adoption of cultural elements by white America?
