Audrey is a flash portfolio of abstract paintings by Audrey Bergounioux, including videos of the creation of Life is Energy and Color Del Sol (requires Flash 6).

Perhaps it's because I'm a figurative artist at heart, but I find it hard to work up interest about 3rd generation abstract expressionists. Pretty paint, but lacking in content (besides all that plastic interaction of color and shade/Hans Hoffman crap).

In my humble opinion, of course...

Apparently, so do I. This is not groundbreaking art, but she is French. And extremely cute. Her site features award winning Flash design, also.

Au contraire: her paintings have so much content, it doesn't even matter which way you hang them. From her bio: "I usually design paintings that could be enjoyed from different angles. You can hang them horizontally, vertically and in reversed position. By moving them, their meaning changes."

I quite like her work. Made me think of Rothko, Frankenthaler and Russell Mills a bit, too.

thanks eddy - I liked her portfolio too - they may not be groundbreakig works, but that doesn't mean they aren't pleasing.
