Leather to Vinyl We recommend: Barges for the strongest bond. But 3M 80 is a good alternative if you are covering a large area. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the response. MeFi has been so Farkish all day that I thought for sure I was in for a treat.

Oh thank you! Being one of those crafty types, this is going to be handy for me. Anyone else remember when there were only like three kinds of glue in the world? Been to a craft store lately? My gods, there's a glue for everything.

m@, there's no pancakes to ponies, but following "paper to leather" (the closest I could think of) led me to Yamato Sticking Paste, which ought to do the trick. I'll have to try it out on the neighbor's ponies next time I make brunch...

Hackworth- the FAQ recommends spirit gum for most X to skin bonds. If you want something longer-lasting, I speak from experience in saying that cyanoacrylate gels like Zap-a-gap will bond just about anything to skin almost immediately, and will likely hold until the skin dies and falls off.

The thing I like best about this site is its longevity - it's been around since early 1999. Hasn't changed much, just stayed useful. I guess they missed their chance to turn into a Glue Portal and sell out for $50 million to Excite.

One beef about the site - "plastic" is far too generic. There's glues that bond to polystyrene but not to polyvinyls, and then there's polycarbonates. Each kind of plastic will respond differently to any given adhesive substance.
