The Night Air

The Night Air is a beautifully constructed radio show broadcast on Radio National here in Australia. It's essentially cut up bits of documentary, music and audio art .. woven together into a one and half hour themed show. It makes great headphone listening at work.

I really hope we don't kill their server, because they've only just started offering internet archives in the past few months.

oh and while you're at it give this Norman Mailer talk a listen too.

Sorry these posts are Real Audio, i know that bugs some people.

Thanks Ben, hadn't heard of this - enjoying the "pirate" track as i type and getting a bit more out of my 8 cents a day.

Yeah, TNA is a brilliant show that I've been listening to like an addict the last few months. I only wish Radio National were available in glorious stereo FM in my part of the land (I was hoping your link pointed to some nice, downloadable .mp3s rather than .rams!)

I don't think RN is available anywhere in stereo.

Around here, it's FM mono. It's like watching black and white TV, and a national disgrace, if you ask me. Imagine The Planet in FM stereo.

I liked the Mediawatch thing with Balding cut off just as he was lauding the improvements in AM(!) broadcasting.

What they call Local ABC is sort of 702 and is FM stereo.

Obligatory Jam link. More sureal radio action.
