Great link, hama7. I've only ever seen "Good Morning", but I thought it was fantastic. Funny, funny stuff. It's fascinating to look at from our post-turn-of-the-century perspective--especially if you're familiar with American influence on modern Japanese society. I'd love some hot young Japanese director to remake it today. posted by jpoulos at 9:11 AM on September 3, 2003

Awesome, I just watched Good Morning last week (netflix) and it was my first exposure to Ozu since college. Hopefully, some of his other work will make it to DVD. posted by condour75 at 9:33 AM on September 3, 2003

Cheers, hama7. I saw a screening of Floating Weeds earlier this year, with Roger Ebert giving a frame-by-frame commentary. Lovely film. posted by carter at 1:22 PM on September 3, 2003
frame-by-frame commentary???
Wow, that would be something...
Seriously though, Ozu smokes in any jacket. posted by Fabulon7 at 5:26 PM on September 3, 2003
