Kenny VS. Spenny is a new reality tv show on Canada's CBC network. The premise? Two friends "battle" in a different competition each week to see who is "better". What types of competitions? Who can lose the most weight. Who will be the first to use their arms. Who can make the most money in three days... [more inside]

Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice are also the filmmakers behind the so-so documentary Pitch. I spent four years in film school with Spencer (he’s a neurotic ball of energy) and we didn’t see eye to eye on much, to say the least. That said, I gotta admit that this idea is so stupid it verges on brilliant and I can’t help but be curious as to how popular it’s going to be. Anyone see the show?

I quite enjoyed The Pitch - cheers for finding new stuff. You can see an episode of Kenny vs Spenny here - "Who can gain the most weight in a week"

I saw the first episode last week (who can stay awake the longest) and it was hi-larious! kenny decided day 2 was his no-energy-expenditure day, so he wheeled around all day on a swiped motorized wheelchair.

I don't know why this is targeted at kids though... 5:30pm on cbc?

meech's link is hilarious. So much better with the cursing intact, and closeups of cleavage.

I have to say, Kenny is much craftier and far less self-conscious, giving him the ruthlessness advantage.

I heard that it was originally suppossed to be tamer, but it sorta got raunchier as they were putting it together...

I've seen last weeks and todays episode (Who can stay handcuffed the longest), pretty good series so far. I had trouble believing that character Wolfish (sp?) was for real, hope he shows up again.
