Around 1000 GMT, homunculus - when it's 0500 on the East Coast and 0200 on the West Coast of the USA; far too early for the hungover British and there's only the sporadic, but friendly, after-lunch company of Aussies, Kiwis and those stationed in Korea, Japan, etc. Very quiet. I hate it.

Didn't Dick Dale due a version of Hava Nagila as well? I recall that one being a much more powerful version than this one. This one seems dull in comparison. (One day I'm going to write that epic screenplay about a Jewish surfer that the song conjured in my head those years ago...)

For those that think the concept here is zany or crazy... well, ok, it is a little. But "Misrlou", the song Dick Dale is famous for (think Pulp Fiction) is, as far as I know, and old Greek folk song that is traditionally played by Bouzouki players. So there's some precedent for turning folk songs into surf music. I like it.
