I love it, just because it's the exact voice of Burt Barlow, the Rush-esque character who masterminded Sideshow Bob's run for mayor.

I don't know. Gloating sucks.

(oops, Birch Barlow)

Rush has been gloating for years and years. Let the people who've had to put up with him have their week or so of fun.

I'm not gloating personally, if there's something humorous I'll laugh at it, just like I laughed at some of the myriad Clinton jokes. This really didn't seem that humorous however, so I'll refrain from laughing.

I also agree with Space Coyote, Rush's entire personality is built around gloating. A big part of his schtick is about cruelty. For every minute of fact he presents there are at least 10 fold that spent on making unflattering caricatures of people and personal attacks. His show is synonymous with schadenfreude so I understand where this is coming from. He's created caricatures of liberals (not just liberals really, it's anybody who even leans away from a right pointing vertical): They're drug-addled communists who hold the working man in contempt. He's also created a caricature of conservatives: Straight and narrow God fearing champions of righteousness.

He's been outed as a failure to his own caricature, he's earned a bit of humiliation, not for his failures, but for the way he's tried to humiliate others who've failed in the same way. He's earned it for humiliating people who haven't even failed based purely on their political leanings, or in Chelsea Clinton's case, her parents.

I'm not saying that gloating isn't distasteful but it's understandable, especially given that it's Rush Limbaugh who's suffering the misfortune.

Does anyone have a sense of humour? It's ok to laugh at someone without thinking about the political ramifications. Political correctness has killed humour.

Gloating about someone's drug addiction tends not to be funny.

Unless they're Ted Kennedy.

Look, if somebody pushes you into the mud and points and laughs, then walks away and trips and falls into a mud puddle, nobody is going to call you an a**hole for laughing at them. Big Rush has been using his position to browbeat, mock, label, and ridicule anybody who disagrees with him. Remember, this is the guy who said the Clintons had a White House dog and put up a picture of a 13 year old Chelsea Clinton.

Go ahead, laugh.

I don't care whether it's "appropriate" to "gloat" about Rush or not. The point is that Harry Shearer is hilarious in this. It's brilliant.

And if you can't make fun of the pop-culture phenomenon that is Rush, then humor must be dead.

Please folks. Rush is a rock band. Rush Limbaugh is the thing that gets compared with the Hindenburg.

Shearer's got a long history of blasting the media. A Mother Jones interview from this summer reveals some of his philosophies for those that haven't heard his radio show.

Today's Tom Sawyer,
He gets high on you,
And the space he invades
He gets by on you.
No, his mind is not for rent
To any god or government.
Always hopeful, yet discontent,
He knows changes aren't permanent,
But change is.
What you say about his company
Is what you say about society.

Limbaugh burned his "Get Out of Schaudenfreude Free" card with his oh-so-ironic loss of hearing.

I wish I had a link to the mp3 "I'm a Nazi" composed of audio clips of Limbaugh. Very well edited.

Rush Limbaugh is the thing that gets compared with the Hindenburg.

Because he's fat? fat jokes seem personal, and incorrect since he lost weight. Why not joke about his hearing problem instead?

Unless you're saying: Hindenburg = "going down in flames". That's a different thing.

Is your decency preventing you from gloating about Limbaugh's Kharma?

It's an old joke. (but a good one)

One's a flaming Nazi gasbag. The other's just a dirigible."
