World solar challenge 2003.Darwin to Adelaide 19 - 28 October. Check out the route. Meet the teams. Have a look at the GreenFleet class as well, where technology meets reality. I won't be able to watch the race but have high hopes for next year's Olympics.

I wonder, though, if it would be cooler if everyone was stuck with the same "spec" car shell. Then, the focus would be more on the solar power system. posted by Mid at 11:32 AM on October 22, 2003
Yes it would, but I think the teams (universities) are more in the experimental phase at the moment. Which is good for experimental issues. Perhaps there will be a real standardized solar competition in a few years.
