Fantastic site. The clay does look a bit like sculpee or fimo clay that you can fire in your oven. Now I must have pongo!
But not this pongo (as featured on cable channel 12). posted by jabo at 8:15 PM on October 20, 2003
Of course in my day, back when the 100 Year War was still fresh and only a few weeks old, American audiences still had trouble with the Beatles' "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" because it mentioned plasticine instead of "Play-Doh", whatever that is. posted by MiguelCardoso at 8:27 PM on October 20, 2003

I like the art-as-blog scene that has been emerging lately. This is another great example. posted by Ufez Jones at 8:56 PM on October 20, 2003
I adore this - great, great figures and a wonderful presentation. By the way, I just have to say that I love this comment:
This is hard.
It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you all that our dog Sirius munched and crunched our friend early this morning. His name was Dobie. I thought you might want to know. I almost posted a picture of the resulting mess, but it would not have been dignified. What can I say? He died at the age of 2 days and knew how to have a good time. Use your imagination.
Peace, brother Dobie. posted by taz at 3:45 AM on October 21, 2003
I want this to be the official mascot of Metafilter, similar to Domoko:

plasticine instead of "Play-Doh"
They're not the same things at all. Play-Doh is in fact made primarily out of flour, if the various recipes on the Web for making your own can be believed. Even if the real Play-Doh is slightly different, I'm pretty sure it's made of food. That's why it proudly proclaims to be "non-toxic."
If you leave Play-Doh out long enough, it will dry out. Plasticine will not, as it is oil-based. posted by kindall at 7:01 AM on October 21, 2003
