<public service>For those of you looking for a bit of description or commentary before spending time following links: most of these point to makers of grotesque full-head Halloween masks. Cool to look at; hot to wear, I imagine. Last link is to some kind of horror fan magazine site. Looks pretty well done.</public service>

Ah, something seasonal to slip into...
Mr Dead Guy - even a skeleton looks good in a top hat...

And this one's gonna give me freaky dreams. Non existent irises always freak me out. Curse you, crunchland!

Those are pretty cool! I am so tired of people dressing up as "sexy ____" (sexy mortician, sexy tarzan, sexy nurse). I'm totally going as something scary this year. Thanks for the links.

Great trip crunchland! Skinless zombies! Beautiful!

I couldn't believe the guy who built a cemetary entrance gate including a 60' long fence out of wood! This seems like a lot of work for a one night scare fest.

Has he yet built that backyard deck he promised?

Some of the projects on the MonsterList Of Links to Halloween Do-It-Yourself Projects are incredibly involved, worthy of a scenic department on a feature horror flick.

I did want to mention, that I prefer to dress up more topical in one way or another. Those masks are not only hot, but truly scare off any um, interesting nurses, say. You're just not going to hook up with the gore frankly.

Great presentation of an obvious topic, BTW

Point of trivia: Mr. Deadguy worked with the Dead Milkmen on their soon-to-be released DVD compilation Philadelphia In Love, doing the monster makeup for Rodney Anonymous.

I just found out the best fake vampire teeth are "scarecrow". Because that'll be my costume--the teeth, and nothing else. Wish I could afford the creepy contacts too.

But, perplexed, you can do both!

I sort of gave short shrift to Death Studios by only linking to their most recent masks... here's an extensive look at all of the ones they offer... too late to order for halloween, unfortunately.

Anyone have experience with costume contact lenses? They can be pretty expensive, and I'm leery. I've never worn contacts before. Any anecdotes, etc. appreciated.

this probably goes over the line, and it may not be suitable for everyone, but, autopsy zombie staple babies.
