Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. American comedy legend Jerome Horwitz, a.k.a. Curly Howard(sound) of The Three Stooges, was born 100 years ago today. All right, you knuckeheads, spread out.

Great comedy is so often tinged with traged, and for Curly, was it ever. He had a string of failed marriages, only finding happiness with wife No. 4 shortly before his death at age 48, of complications from a stroke suffered on the set five years earlier. R.I.P., Grapehead.
(Beware, much stooge attrition on links pages)

...and of course, there's the other Curly stand-in (quite an achiever in his own right).

I knew I had found the right job when one of the first things my coworkers asked me was, "Who's your favorite Stooge?"
