Apparently, the new gig in Berlin, Germany as of last month is pr0n Karaoke - you and a partner (or two, or three?) get together on stage, with a movie up on the screen, and "act out" the parts being played out graphically. I attended a couple porneokie events in San Francisco, but they differ from that described in the article. The karaoke was the traditional bad singing variety but the catch was that the lyrics were superimposed on some of the grosser more disturbing XXX videos... so it was hard to read the lyrics with that kind of distraction going on. Fun time all around. Man, I miss SF.

Germany? I'm surprised this isn't something the twentysomethings of today are doing in order to shock their parents. At one time I hoped something similar to this would have become popular by now. A set up similar to that described, except it would be B-rated movies and instead of faking orgasms, participants would improvise humorous dialogue. A la Mystery Science Theater. Combining film media with live action improvisation. Of course it'd never work. Too many critics in the audience. Everybody thinks they can do better than whoever has the mike. It'd deteriorate into a room filled with hecklers. Rocky Horror Picture Show was a rare anomaly. But hey. Sex sells. I think I'll stick to serious dvd commentaries about movies where people actually wear clothes. I know. Sounds kinky.
