Conspiracy theories are my friend.... And I thought I was the only one. For the longest time, I have thought that there has been no evidence to tie Osama bin Laden and the WTC attack. At least one other nut agrees with me (via BoingBoing.net).

No, conspiracy theories are NOT your friend...

... they just want you to THINK they are :)

As far as the JFK stuff come to Dallas, in a few weeks the news circus will be here, even the living eyewitnesses.

At first I thought I was reading Chick tracts.

Setting the exact content aside, I have to say that I am continually impressed by the ability of the comic form to come up with clear and concise ways of expressing "lessons" of all types, including Chick tracts, Joe Sacco's work, MAUS, and others. It really packs a punch that no other medium can really match for a particular mode of expression.

When I first saw the towers go down I thought it was those anti-globalization protesters.

I just don't know about that.

had anyone noticed that rarely do you see language like "WTC attack" in communication, particularly in the print and broadcast media. it's always "the events of 9/11". it's almost as if the nation were a victorian girl, who, forced by circumstance to discuss her private parts with a male doctor, resorts to speaking in hushed whispers about a problem "down there".

quonsie, maybe because people want to refer to the whole shebang of 9/11, including the pentagon and that other plane downed in Pennsylvania, rather than solely the attack that destroyed the WTC.

Conspiracy theories have secretly replaced your friend and are only pretending to be him/her in order to get close to you....

Yes, quonsar, I had noticed that. lol

ok, well, i'm not seeing much in the way of "the day they blew the shit out of manhattan and the pentagon" either. the point isn't the locations, the point is the cringing reluctance to name it.

oops. should have quoted beth there...

How about calling it a bombing? I love that. There was no bomb on any of the plains. No bomb involved at all, but it's still a bombing?

I guess that's tending to go away, but I sure heard that a lot at the beginning.

I still think of it as the day they devalued the anniversary of tupac's death. Also, as the day we almost lost Rod Roddy. He gave us two more good years.

"You'll be stunned as you hear high-level Mormons describe how their god lives on a faraway planet, busily engaged in perpetual sexual relations with his many wives to produce millions of spirit babies to inhabit the bodies of humans. You will listen with disbelief as they describe that this is the future godhood they hope to attain to as well."

I thought the comic was interesting if nothing else but it sure could use some footnotes.

Here's more information about LBJ and the alleged mistress quoted in the comic. (A .pdf file, for those of you keeping score at home.)
