November 8th is the Harmonic Concordance! No don't confuse it with 1987's Harmonic Convergence that was a different one. Anyhow the new age, astrological and the tin foil hat communities are abuzz with speculation about the significance of this latest event. What is it? According to astrologers the Grand Sextileis a rare and powerful planetary alignment. The November 8th Lunar eclipse will happen simultaniously to the alignment.

Well personally i have no idea what it might mean. Astrology is one of those 'sciences' [quoted not to sound condescending, but because it often is used to negative/fallacious effect] that i do notice every once and awhile. There will be something though, hopefully. Change is good, no matter what. Here's another [less minty looking] article about it.

Interesting... from the Harmonic Convergence link: ...The prophecy stated that following the ninth hell, humanity would know and experience an unprecedented New Age of Peace. The Hell cycle ended on August 16, 1987; the Harmonic Convergence began on August 17. Thus began the projected twenty-five year culmination of the 5,125 year Great Cycle of History, as well as the 26,000-year cycle of evolution, both slated to end in 2012. Is this what Bush I ceaselessly referred to as the "End of History"? Man, I didn't know these skull-n-bones/mason guys were so into this, stuff. Would that any of this were true, but I haven't been able to identify any new age of peace that started in 1987. Better luck with the Concordance, I guess!

Astrology is one of those 'sciences' Please do not debase the term "science" in such a fashion. Astrology is to science as the lottery is to economics.

I may not understand it, but I won't scoff at something just because I don't know anything about it nor at those that have an interest in it. When they condemed Copernicus, we could say today, eh, what did they know. Not that I'm equating it with the work at NASA. I mean, without him, we wouldn't have products. Products? Hell, even e-Copernicus. Interesting, have a grand sextile weekend, baby!

I may not understand it, but I won't scoff at something just because I don't know anything about it nor at those that have an interest in it. Why do you assume that those who scoff at astrology know nothing about it? (OK, in fairness you only said that you won't scoff at something you know nothing about, but I think the implication is strong.) I devoted a fair amount of time to astrology for a few years of my life, and I scoff at it.

Please do not debase the term "science" in such a fashion. Astrology is to science as the lottery is to economics. rushmc, then i would take this statement as saying that it's INTEGRAL to it ;) I made the statement in regard to the face that astrology and astronomy were once studied as a single science, that's all.

What, DevilsAdvocate, you're out of it now? Seems like one needs to put in some serious hours to get a handle on this thing, astrology. So why dost thou scoff now? I will say this, I had a chart made years ago. Trouble is, I couldn't find out the time of my birth. Nevertheless, it was very interesting and quite telling. 6 pages of it. I thought it was pretty fascinating.
