There a lovely local ale called "Piss"... with a light strength counterpart... "Piss Weak". Another good local beer with a whacky name is "Mountain Goat Beer"... "Climb every Mountain, Drink every Goat"

Another vote for Old Peculier. There's also Bishop's Finger, popularly known as Nun's Delight. (Google for more background). Incidentally, people have been successfully selling Sauvignon Blanc here with the delightful name "Cat's Pee on a Gooseberry Bush". If you scroll down this page you can see the label for Hoegaarden's Forbidden Fruit. I understand their US importers asked them to change the label to allow it to be sold in the US market. Hoegaarden told them to get lost.

Of course, if you just want to get messed up, you could try the Belgian Scaldis (12% alcohol by volume). It's probably the highest ABV beer available that actually tastes like beer (unlike the 17.5% Sam Adams Triple Bock). Those aren't very funny names, though.

If you like stouts, try this Nils Oscar Imperial Stout (Swedish, nice coffee aroma) I prefer Pabst to Duff, though both are equally invisible in flavor. ;)

Victory Brewing Company has some great names, including Hop Devil Pale Ale and Storm King Stout. Another good one is Skullsplitter, from the Orkney Brewery.

I like Fat Angel, from Vermont's own Magic Hat Brewing Co. -- not to be confused with Fat Bastard Chardonnay. Also, when in Lincoln, NE stop by Lazlo's, the excellent brewpub of the Empyrean Ale Co., featuring LunaSea ESB, Dark Side Porter, Burning Skye, and Collapsar Oatmeal Stout. Yum.

couch: Dogfish Head, brewed in my home town, can be wildly inconsistent. I've had some of the worst beer ever from them only to later try a pint of the exact same style beer and found it tasted wonderful.
