How in the html do they make motion ascii graphics??? posted by Goofyy at 6:21 AM on November 14, 2003
Goofyy- each "frame" is loaded as a separate HTML layer. Some simple Javascript just loops through each frame and toggles its visibility. I'm guessing that the actual content is the output of one of many movie-to-ascii converters floating around (Apple, for example, includes one as a demo for QT movies in its dev tools). Primitive, but effective. posted by mkultra at 6:33 AM on November 14, 2003
Goofyy: aalib. It's supported by the Gimp, MPlayer, and you can even play Quake in it. posted by Eamon at 6:35 AM on November 14, 2003
