Ann Sheridan is enthusiastic about Ayds!!!
"Ayds Brand Diet Candy", that is, chronicled by the entertaining marketing/design newsletter from Rigney Graphics, as well as the personal story of a newspaper columnist, and RetroCrush's archive of offensive snack products. Okay, how about a popular soft drink in Taiwan called Sars?

My can of Sars. (self-link). I bought it at the supermarket recently. Apparently sales are quite healthy.

Actually, the president of the company that produced "Ayds" had well-circulated quote in the early 80's. Something like "The product's been around for 40 years. Let the disease change its name." Can't find it, though.

I'm baffled by the marketing decision a few years ago to rename the cleaning cream Jif to Cif (i.e. "syph" = syphilis in UK slang).
