um, it's geocities. posted by angry modem at 8:32 AM on December 2, 2003
This is so rad. Totally sweet. I'm waiting until later (like, after work) to play a few games.
I didn't think it would work, but it looks *exactly* like the original. posted by rocketman at 8:38 AM on December 2, 2003
and yes, this is beyond cool. posted by angry modem at 8:40 AM on December 2, 2003
Oh crap.
The download pages aren't. Pacman is here. I expect this post will self distruct before too long though. Sorry of its crashed before you get there. posted by davehat at 8:41 AM on December 2, 2003
It worked for me and it's pretty impressive! posted by Songdog at 9:09 AM on December 2, 2003
HO. LEE. FOOK.
That's incredible. posted by scarabic at 9:22 AM on December 2, 2003
What scarabic said. That's amazing. posted by notsnot at 9:39 AM on December 2, 2003
I saw a page that shows screenshots of a whole bunch of these... are there more out there? posted by XQUZYPHYR at 9:41 AM on December 2, 2003
It won't work for me, which makes me sadder than anything else in the entire world. The Excel version of Space Invaders worked though! It totally took over my excel program, couldn't start or exit or anything... posted by vito90 at 9:46 AM on December 2, 2003
Well, of course, there's always MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator -- sorry, no link), but I would rather see Mrs. Pac Man! Much more fun! Absolutely very impressed. I used to be an Excel Macro programmer back in the early 90s. Amazing how far it's come. posted by PigAlien at 9:51 AM on December 2, 2003
geocities.jp is way different than geocities.com. This page has already survived a minor slashdotting so don't expect it to go away. posted by zsazsa at 9:59 AM on December 2, 2003
This apparently does not work at all with OpenOffice 1.1. Ah well. posted by majick at 10:12 AM on December 2, 2003
There's always the Excel Flight Simulator for when you get bored of Pacman. I must say I've never tried it, having never had Excel 97. posted by Orange Goblin at 11:06 AM on December 2, 2003
Yeah, that was pretty amazing! The game is still boring as ever, though. posted by sharpener at 5:18 PM on December 2, 2003
How the hell did that flight sim get into excel?
vito90: space invader did exactly the same to me. Stick to pacman, it works really well. posted by davehat at 2:40 AM on December 3, 2003
An acquaintance of mine told me about a friend who had done floorplan layouts for her house in Excel. Is there anything it can't do? posted by namespan at 6:39 PM on December 3, 2003
