Hey, it made my day exciting. As did Piotr Szyhalski's ultra-cynical posters.

Can we use marquees on the front page now?

Cool posters, btw.

There's lots of good stuff buried in the MCAD (Minneapolis College of Art and Design) site besides Szyhalski's work ... a good couple days worth of browsing at least. The only negative I can see is MCAD's emphasis on concept over workmanship, which doesn't necessarily apply to the series being discussed but rather MCAD's favored way of thinking about and teaching art.

His designs are amazing. Really a top-notch typographer. The posters made me feel frightened, then depressed, then a little bit ill. I think I'll mail #5 to my ex.

I have a question for anybody who knows:

How did the guy use all those nifty type fonts? Is it a relatively easy to find program or something? A plugin to photoshop? Anybody?

Nice images. Thanks for the post, taz.

umm yeah, it's a plugin.

hama7, you just download fonts you like and once you've installed them they will be available to use in your graphics and word processing programs. Some of my favorite font sites are TypOasis, Font Paradise, Nick's Fonts, Astigmatic, and Misprinted Type.

Oh, and speaking of #5, damehex - is that a leech under a glass in the last image? Ew. Ouch. Ick. But nice metaphor.

Sorry, xmutex, for the horizontal rule, but I didn't use my one free "egregious front page formatting abuse" pass last year, and I didn't want this year to slip by without taking advantage of it. It won't happen again!
