Mapping History: The Darkwing Atlas Project "The Project has been designed to provide interactive and animated representations of fundamental historical problems and/or illustrations of historical events, developments, and dynamics." All sorts of simple historical animated and static maps as well as photos and images from Greek and Phoenician expansions, to the spread of Slavery in the American South 1790-1860 and christian graffiti from the Roman catacombs.

Just what I needed as an example for a project. I just wish the maps were a bit bigger.

For the curious, the name *darkwing* is the name of the server that the project is on. It is also a reference to the disney charachter of the same name. As the UofO mascot is a Duck, many of their servers have duck related names. After they burned through those - many of which are now offline - they moved onto more difficult references such as *gladstone* which is a disney publisher. Randoma triva fact via my head. :)
