Did you die on 9/11? If so, the government would like a word with you.
A woman whose husband died in the WTC disaster received a letter today from the Department of Commerce, requesting the deceased's assistance with their investigations. Presumably, many of the other victim's families received this letter too.
After all, they *were* witnesses, weren't they?!

its just one of those incidents that have a tinge of irony. That is the only thing seperating it from the other millions of fuckups a day. Let us remember what Kurt Vonnegut said about life:

When Billy Pilgrim was taken by the tralfmadorians and shipped to the distand planet, he asked them about life. Tralfmadorians see in 4 dimensions in the way that they can see the past, present, and future. To a tralfmadorian, if they see their friend dead, they just assume their friend is just in bad shape right now but because he was alive he will always be there.

You are acting like John Edwards doesn't exist. This is a legitimate avenue of investigation. I've seen it on TV.

That's one heck of an assumption. Was the letter numbered something out of three thousand or are you just making a random guess?

I would feel bad about screwing up John Edward's name if it were actually a sign of intelligence to know his exact name.

Not random, no. Statistically likely. Most people do not have weblogs, so if you hear firsthand from a weblog owner about their receiving such a form letter, then it is highly likely that many others who don't have weblogs received such letters too.
