I don't see the United Way or Foster Parents Plan on there. I keep thinking they must be there somewhere.

Planned Parenthood's chief executive gets more than seems prudent. However, they address a concern of mine effectively, so they get my money.

Also, consider throwing a little money to small local charities, and not just during the holidays. Boston-area folks, this one's excellent.

I favour Heifer International, which has a good income:charity ratio and has a "teach a man to fish" approach to assistance. Very powerful stuff, that.
