For some strange reason I actually like him. posted by konolia at 5:46 PM on December 9, 2003
I call bulls#$! on Ozzy's claim that " the pills" were the cause of his slurred speech and stumbling, delusional episodes.... as a fan of Ozzy from way back, I can honestly say that he's been that way for a few decades.
I first saw the guy in concert way back in the day - Blizzard of Oz, and later the Diary of a Madman tour.... and let me tell you, Ozzy's speech was so slurred, the crowd gave up on trying to understand the lyrics, and settled on thrashing around to the music.
Still, one could argue that he was on drugs at that time as well, leading to his actions... but I saw Ozzy again later on in the eighties, on the Ultimate Sin tour, when he was supposedly "clean"... well, as clean as Ozzy can ever be, I suppose.
And the guy damn near broke his neck running around mumbling, rambling on, and falling around the stage.
But I still love the guy. posted by bradth27 at 5:53 PM on December 9, 2003

i too hooted aloud when i read an article where he and sharon explained how they had "fired" the doctor who had prescribed 13,000 doses of 70 some-odd medications over a period of months. the doc's in some deep shit, the feds are on to his act, and the osbourne's had public ties to him. what a lame-ass attempt to distance themselves. ozzy musta thought it up. posted by quonsar at 7:15 PM on December 9, 2003
Ozzy is still on a ventilator following the ATV accident and doctors are reportedly "very guarded" about his prognosis. I'm not sure that making light of the man's failings and foibles is exactly the best thing to do right this moment. posted by Dreama at 2:01 PM on December 10, 2003
His daughter was on tv last night saying the ventilator was simply to help him breathe-because the broken ribs were making it too painful for him to breathe on his own. She didn't give any indication he was in that bad of a shape, but who knows. *off to google* posted by konolia at 8:10 AM on December 11, 2003
