oh, [flash] and the second link leads you instead to a nice section where Chef Boyardee is with Mark Twain.

Where else are you going to find Johnny Cash next to James and the Giant Peach?

I can think of one place...

*sigh* That's what I get for trusting the mefi search.

this is probably the sweetest image available on the web. it could use a repost.

Why are people always blaming the Mefi Search? It works just fine.

Cool image.

I missed this one, so I'm glad to see it. For some reason, the Upright Citizen's Brigade is driving Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. That's gonna give me nightmares.

Hey, I can see my house from here!

I didn't miss it, so thanks dgaicun for pointing out what a lame excuse "That's what I get for trusting the mefi search" is. More like "that's what I get for not bothering to search." Once you've fucked up, at least be honest.

Unless, out of google-habit, she searched "The Picture of Everything" with the quotation marks. Not a reason to blame the search, but it makes the mistake a little more understandable.

I came here to see if anyone had made a Waldo joke. Nothing. I was ready to post something like "what, 12 comments and no mention of Waldo?" then I saw this post.

nthdegx - if that turns out to be the case, I withdraw my groundless accusation.

If not, though, my groundless accusation stands!

Its pretty sad that that Meta thread is over a year old, thats a pretty stupid search defect to not correct.

You are healed kitty, the new lame excuse award goes to matt: 'I don't know how to fix it'. Gee Matt, don't you think there are enough toady tech-heads around here who would love to fix that annoying error for you?

on another note, i could not find waldo, ironically, only some little rascal with a candy-cane striped shirt.

Or how about a warning message? What, you can't put up a little disclaimer on the search page??
posted by dgaicun at 3:34 PM on December 12, 2003

Another problem I think I've noticed is that you sometimes have to set it at "since day one" to get results that have happened within the current year.

I searched the link and Howard Hallis and got nada. I figured if I did a search on The Picture of Everything I'd get back a million posts with the words everything and picture, since those words are so common.
But I did search. I realize now that there are multiple sites with the same content (the orignal post has the website thepictureofeverything.com while mine is from howardhallis.com). I think that happened with the mario in 11 minutes post as well.
I do apologize for double posting though. Sorry.

If I'm not in the picture, I just lose interest...
