That's the best use of flash I have ever seen. It's gorgeous.

I love the little sounds too. Does anyone know a good place to download tiny "blip", "woop", "whoosh", and other type sounds, preferably for free? :)

The site also remembers where you last positioned the individual 'cards' when you visit again.

The load time associated with having to wait on each individual 'card' to load is a little annoying.

Impressive. Terrible from a practical viewpoint, difficult to navigate, but kinda fun to play around with.

Gorgeous page and fun to play with, not sure what the point of such an elaborate page for a fairly dull subject but hey, it was fun flinging cards around for a few minutes.

Oh wait, it gets better but the card load times are annoying, as howa2396 points out. Great esthetic but it could be better used for, say baseball cards or interactive choose your own adventures or something just a bit more interesting (that and all the descriptions being under construction is a drag).

Oh well, what's next?

I've been trying to decide if their are any practical UI lessons here, bobo123. One is the notion of letting users make arbitrarily sloppy stacks of objects, where they can reveal as much of the underlying cards/objects as they need for their purpose. E.g. - if they know everything that's in a stack or don't care what's in a stack, they can make it nice and neat and minimize screen space for that collection. If they just need a little reminder about each object, they can take up a little more space and lay them out Solitaire-style, where you can see just the tips of each card. If they need more reminders about each object in a given collection, they can just spread them all over.

Another nice touch I just noticed. If you double-click a card that's upside-down, the "camera" flips right over to let you read it without disturbing the other cards.

Awesome.

:OT: Mwongozi: <a href="http://flashkit.com/soundfx/">Flashkit</a> is free if I remember correctly. The Interfaces catagory should be the home for wooshes, clicks and beeps. Check out the other Flash developer resources while your at it. Good stuff.</ot>
