So, what format is the honeymoon video in? I'm not going to have to download some weird codec am I?

Man. We send stuff into space, space sends stuff into us, and Britany Spears gets married.

Congrats, January 3rd. You were a kick ass news day.

Does this mean people will finally stop talking about her? Surely that's too good to be true.

RTFA: "a source close to the pop star insists it was all a joke that went too far, and that Spears is already making plans to annul the marriage." ;-P

Next up: a coffee table book of semi-erotic black and white photos.

so.. where's the internet poll about how long this will last? I'm guessing 6 days.

And THAT is why there should be three-day waiting periods. Like they have in sane states.

you know, if it was up to me, there would be like a 6-mo waiting period. Complete with government mandated psych classes to make sure people are aware of what they are getting into, how to deal with relationship problems, etc.

There could be diffrent classes for diffrent levels of intelegence, etc.

.avi, but it has this really weird greenish ultraviolet color

unlike, say, waiting periods and background checks for guns. Allah forbid.

My Ghod she looks scary. How old is she now? 45, right? S'what happens to you when you dish it all up and serve it to the public at 17. Somebody please tell the mall rats.

Don't worry, matteo, as soon as they make me ruler of the universe guns and genitals will be strictly licensed. No, make that confiscated.

If that were the case she'd have been escorted down the aisle by her parole officer rather than a bell hop

you'll have to pry my genitals from my cold, dead hands

I don't know if this is going to backlash on her or not. I have a feeling all this partying is going to catch up with her in some way though.

Wouldn't it be nice if Breathalizer tests were issued at the Clark County Marriage Bureau before anyone gets a license.

Sanity, like morality, cannot be legislated.

Uh, no.

Why do you hate marriage so much?

One: it was tongue in cheek commentary on the seemingly frequent drunk Vegas "drive-thru" weddings and next day annulments.

Two: so if I support drunken Vegas marriages, I am pro-marriage, but if I support people actually be sober and able to walk a straight line when making a major life decision like getting married, I am suddenly anti-marriage? Talk about reading way too fucking much into something.

You got me, I hate marriage so much, I got engaged 3 weeks ago.

jerseygirl, I think you are victim of my failing to include an emoticon at the end of my post. Maybe they do serve a purpose...

I think I've seen 'Why do you hate America so much?' peppered into just about every post for the last year.

Obviously, my embellishment went awry. Polly logies.
Read the last sentence of the second paragraph of your entry above.

Ok. Fair enough, done that myself a few times. Uh, carry on then or something. :)

background checks for guns.

They do require background checks for gun purchases.

As for marriages, many states have waiting periods between the time you apply for the license and when you recieve it. Nevada isn't one of them, obviously.

Besides, even with a waiting period, how many marriages end up in divorce? It's not in the waiting or even a background checks, but on the couples to work through their issues prior to marriage. Or to not marry if they aren't completely compatible.
