That chemo kid is pretty preachy, but he didn't deserve to be sat upon.

He won't want to wear that dress when he gets to high school, I bet.

I have to agree with Mayor Curley. If I know the western kids this strip targets, they won't listen long to some do-gooding chrome dome fresh out of the shower. I was a little disappointed that it didn't elaborate on the Buddha / Dhamma / Sangha stuff it exposed near the beginning. I find the basic stuff like "Be good" easy to understand, it's the abstract concepts I have worlds of trouble with. Still and all, a nicely done strip and a fine first-time a youngster.

I'm kinda sad it doesn't include Jack Chick-style citations for everything Rahula says. "Just because everbody else is taking that path doesn't mean it is the right way to go. ... This, here is the right path." I'm pretty sure the ol' Dalai Lama would take some issue with that statement. But overall, it's a pretty decent job.

"I was a little disappointed that it didn't elaborate on the Buddha / Dhamma / Sangha stuff it exposed near the beginning."

It's a reference to the "triple jewel" of Buddhism, a kind of daily devotional prayer: "I take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma (Dhamma), and the Sangha." The "Triple Jewel" refers to the three 'pillars' of Buddhism: The Buddha himself, who made it possible for us to reach enlightenment, The Dharma (roughly, "Wisdom"), which is the set of teachings the Buddha and his followers developed for reaching enlightenment, and, finally, the Sangha, which is the Buddhist community, peers who travel the Way with you.
