I'm sort of tired that anyone and everyone thinks they can slag actors/entertainers for having/voicing political opinions while they themselves whose qualifications may include office worker, cab driver, house wife, programmer, MetaFilter browser feel themselves free and worthy to spout off ad nauseam. Please, really, get a grip.

The city council or otherwise local politico endorsements are funny and worthy of laughing at. To the leader of your local Elks club has such a draw in a podunk town that the national wire service would carry their endorsement is a little funny. Of course, I've met a lot of small town mayors and city councilmen that think they are senators.

So an actor can, but I can't? If the whole world endorses, why vote? Yes, an actor may/can endorse a candidate, but why make a large announcement. Where is my spot endorsing a candidate. It over done basically was all I was commenting.
