Ah, I just know I'm going to die without ever having sailed on a proper steamboat, sipping that last Mint Julep I really shouldn't have ordered and carelessly bluffing with a pair of sevens, with a well-thumbed copy of Faulkner's beautiful and crazy, ultimately unreadable Absalom, Absalom! waiting for me in my cabin...
