Raiding the 20th Century. On January 18 XFM Radio broadcast a DJ set by Strictly Kev (working under the pseudo-open moniker DJ Food) called Raiding the 20th Century - A History of the Cut Up. The set is completely comprised of music from the later half of, you guess it, the 20th century and makes for a very entertaining and nostalgic listen. File location details inside. The file is about 50 MB, so I'd like to encourage everyone to use P2P networks whenever possible to get this. I will provide a link to the file via BitTorrent, eDonkey and HTTP.

Ah, the tracker is just down for maintenance, apparently. This must have happened in the last few minutes because I checked them right before I posted.

safe!

Don't forget POJ Master, his stuff is equally insane! Visit his blog and tour dates list at www.pojmasta.com

I recommend BeatMixed for keeping up with mashers and cut-ups. It's a daily read for me. POJ and others hang off his 'mashers' link list.

this is a little ot, but for fans of strictly kev, his compilation with coldcut called 'stoned...chilled...groove' is one of my favorite downtempo albums of all time.

oh, and a big 'thank you!' to botono9 for the link.

By the way, the torrent tracker is back up. If the link above doesn't work, try this one:

holy disappointing, batman. I vastly preferred "Introintrospection" to this interfading snore. More audiocollage than mash-up: which is worth something in its own right, I suppose, but not as much as one might think.

Very very nice. Sort of an extension of Bit Meddler's "Shitmix2000". I'm gonna play this on my radio show tonight. (8-11 PM EST)

I waited until I had a chance to download on a faster connection, and now it seems to be gone. Wah. That'll teach me, I guess.
