MikeRoweSoft Settles with Microsoft for an XBox
Mike Rowe had a website named after himself that was alot like the mega-corp.
MS wanted to give him $10 to change the domain, he wanted $10k. They settled on a trip to Redmond, some traffic redirection and an XBox.

Followup to this thread.

I'd have asked MS for something even cheaper for them:

A right, in perpetuity, to install and run any and all Microsoft software for free.

Doesn't cost a dime, and guarantees no more BSA audits! Woohoo!

Cool, I'm going to run right out and register MyCrowSoft.com so I can get a free X-Box.

MyCrowSoft.com so I can get a free X-Box.
You're Brian Krow(sic)? Mr. Row used his birth name.

Rowe's new Web site [which MS helped provide], which is called MikeRoweForums.com, already has more than 700 members and carries advertising banners for file-sharing service Warez P2P.

That's too funny.

I could be if it would score me a freebie.

Microsoft wins. They showered him with MS toys, MS training, and MS conferences. They recruited the guy as his settlement!

So all I need now is for them to produce a software package called ShonBanForth, and I'll get that XBox I never wanted. Crosses Fingers; holds breath in anticipation.

I guess they have to move those X-boxes somehow....

~I heard he was thisclose to renaming his website sunmikerowesystems.com after the settlement.~

Is it true he suffers from mikerowephallus and mikerowecephaly? Or perhaps, in light of his settlement, mikeroweorchidism...

Damn. I thought he would have done far better. Pity.
